Junior Stem strives to engage future innovators through interactive challenges. We understand that the world, the consumer market and the economy is forever changing due to technology, and that's why we thinks its essential that education changes a long with this eternal advancement of technology. We also understand that passion for stem comes from a young age, so we ensure that we not only stress the concepts of stem but also build a love for the challenges that comes with innovation. Ultimately we want to ensure that every student enjoys challenging themselves with potential real-world problems while also being given an advantage in the forever changing technology climate. Also, Junior Stem acts as a social hub for creative minded kids who are willing to interact and share their STEM ideas. Junior STEM realizes the importance of co-operation and team work in order to thrive in a harsh and competitive world, and we try to instill these values since a young age by making our activities based on collaboration and team work.
We are a group of young adults who have identified an inherent flaw with conventional education. Education has become geared toward test performance and evaluation rather than being geared toward brainstorming and experimentation. We aim to fix this issue by giving students the opportunity to explore and learn through interactive means and hands on thinking. We are a diverse group of people from programmers to photographers to educators to scientists to leaders.

Students were given the opportunity to test their physics knowledge with a hands on car race competition! Students were first divided up into group of four with every group having an engineering instructor. They were then given a basic outline on how to create a self-propelling car. They were then given the necessary supplies and were told to get started. Each group of students devised a plan on how to create an efficient car with their given supplies. After 50 minutes, each team lined up to test their cars on the racetrack. Afterwards, each team was given the chance to discuss how they would improve their race cars in the future.

30% of the residents in Trenton fall below the poverty line, with the city having a median income of just half that of New Jersey as a whole; an unfortunate result of this is many capable students don’t have the resources necessary to acquire essential attributes that will become crucial to their future endeavors.
Junior STEM is joining forces with HomeFrontNJ to help motivated students in Trenton to develop a passion for the STEM subjects. With the knowledge of STEM subjects becoming more and more essential in our ever-evolving society, Junior STEM seeks to be at the forefront of the mission to help underprivileged, motivated students, and with HomeFrontNJ’s help, we will be able to make this dream a reality.
You can contact us about future or past events, or even to provide with constructive feedback so that we can improve and make Junior STEM a more enjoyable experience for you and us.
